“And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper (paraclete), to be with you forever . . . But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.” John 14:16, 26
About
Our story
Paraclete
The Companion is the collective work of a community of people committed to extending the transforming presence of the Kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ. It began at Park Cities Presbyterian Church in Dallas, TX where a few good friends started talking and praying. They discussed what a resource might look like to meet the challenges and opportunities of a digital age. The result of this conversation is The Companion.
Our Approach
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20
We aspire to create a resource that is as conversationally accessible as it is theologically grounded. We design in hope that The Companion can be used in diverse contexts. We also believe in removing any barriers to entry. The Companion is, and will always be, completely free to access.
The accompanying audio resources weave together various elements of theological reflection, music, poetry, Scripture reading, narration, and silence to create a space for slowing down and more deeply considering life with God. All of our conversations are the result of sitting down with real people and flow out of prayer.
